With winter around the corner, and heavier amounts of snow predicted in Colorado, it is all the more urgent to help those experiencing homelessness. In expectation of this year’s La Niña event, Fort Collins Rescue Mission is readying its winter shelter to provide 70 extra beds in addition to the 89 beds available during warmer months. The Mason facility will open on November 4th and will stay open until the end of the cold weather months in April.
Thanks to the Mission’s dedicated staff and the support of Fort Collins, more individuals are able to stay off of the streets and gain access to needed resources.
This shelter is not only a source of refuge but provides guests with hot meals and a warm, safe place to sleep. Freshly laundered sheets and blankets are provided each night.”
– Paula Ordaz, Director of Fort Collins Rescue Mission.
