If you’re familiar with GivingTuesday, you know it’s a special day of giving that normally happens every November, the Tuesday following Thanksgiving.
This year, the GivingTuesday organization decided to create a special one-time opportunity to participate in a giving event they are calling GivingTuesdayNow. The goal of GivingTuesdayNow is to support non-profits like Fort Collins Rescue Mission that are doing great things in our community to respond to the COVID-19 crisis.
#GivingTuesdayNow is a global day of generosity and unity, a day to come together and give back in response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19, no matter who or where we are.
GivingTuesday
But Wait… It Gets Even Better
GivingTuesdayNow takes place on May 5, which also happens to be right at the start of our annual May Matching gift challenge.
That means, you have an extra special opportunity. Not only can you participate in GivingTuesdayNow to help the Mission during this difficult time. Your gift will also be DOUBLED thanks to the generosity of a group of donors who sponsored this matching campaign up to $10,000!
So on or before May 5, be sure to visit FortCollinsRescueMission.org/GivingTuesdayNow to make your GivingTuesdayNow gift go even further through this matching gift opportunity!
3 Ways to Make the Most of #GivingTuesdayNow
Simply Give
The first way is the easiest way—give a gift to Fort Collins Rescue Mission on May 5. It’s as simple as that. Your donation will automatically be matched by our $10,000 matching fund, doubling the impact of your gift.
Connect With Your Family and Friends
We know social distancing is working, but it can make so many of us feel isolated and alone. And nothing builds community like facing challenges and doing good things together.
So on May 5 for GivingTuesdayNow, you can do great things by inviting your family and friends to make a gift to Fort Collins Rescue Mission. Tell your friends on social media how to support the Mission, call your parents and talk to them about it (they’ll probably appreciate the call anyway) or talk to someone in your church or small group about how to support the Mission.
Volunteer
Through all the stay-at-home orders and social distancing, Fort Collins Rescue Mission has been and continues to be a vital lifeline for thousands of people who are experiencing homelessness in the midst of all this uncertainty. And our volunteers help make that possible. After you give your GivingTuesdayNow donation, head over to our volunteer site to sign up for a volunteer shift.
