Christmas has been in full swing at Fort Collins Rescue Mission! On Wednesday our guests were served a “Buddy the Elf” themed breakfast, and on the evening of Thursday, December 23, we served a delicious Christmas meal at our annual Christmas banquet.
One by one guests began filing into the Mission, finding solace in the warmth of the shelter and contentment as their plates were filled with ham, turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, corn, rolls, pie, and cider.
Although there has been little snow this December, that doesn’t take away from the other challenges our guests are facing. Many are away from loved ones this holiday season, and with COVID cases still on the rise, many continue to be vulnerable to the spread of the virus.
Thanks to a generous donation, our guests each received a new thermal along with their meal. It was such a blessing to see the gratitude on their faces as they were given an assurance of warmth this winter season. In total, we served 107 meals at Fort Collins Rescue Mission at the banquet on December 23.
That is why we are incredibly thankful for you, our donors and volunteers, who see the challenges our guests are facing and step in to make sure they have support. Your support is giving many a Christmas filled with much needed community and love.
